(This post has no connection to the movie whatsoever, I’m just trying my hand at being clever with a title.)
So last week I was feeling really frustrated with the whole GAPS project we’ve got going on here. I felt like my [...]
So this is going to be a really simple post with a couple pretty pictures. Because making ghee in a crockpot is SO EASY!!! Unless I have to, I will never make ghee on the stovetop or in the oven ever again.
As it turned out, making the latest batch of ghee in the [...]
Sometimes it’s really hard to know and believe what I believe, and believe that what I know is true, at least an approximation of true, for myself and for most people, in terms of food, nutrition, and health. (I’m not talking specifics like omega-3 vs. omega-6 ratios, or whether fructose should be consumed, but [...]
Sometimes, you just have too much of a good thing. (Not that the picture above is an indication that I think freight containers on a train are too much of a good thing. But everything in its proper proportion. And this post is as much about proper proportions as anything else.)
As [...]
Keeping it simple today. Here’s a copy of my list of what we brought along on our road trip food-wise:
Beef Jerky Salmon Jerky Caramelized onion crisps Dehydrated roasted red pepper strips Raw honey Coconut spreadable “butter” Nettle-oatstraw-raspberry leaf tea Coconut flour, carrot flour, and almond flour Kefir made from raw milk [...]
Don’t you just love when a recipe in your head turns out even better than you could possibly have imagined it? Sometimes I think up ways to cook things and they turn out to be total flops, barely edible. That was NOT the case last night!

Altho most of the foods we packed in the cooler for taking on our road trip were things that were fermented and/or dehydrated, so if they got above refrigerator temps they’d still be safe to eat, I did take a few limited frozen items which we managed to keep cool enough thru [...]
